Zoho Inventory
Stock figures are only trusted when every godown, every order and every invoice moves the same number.
Zoho Inventory tracks items, variants, batches and serial numbers across warehouses, and runs the order cycle from sales order to package, shipment and invoice, with purchase orders and bills on the buying side. It shares items, contacts and transactions with Zoho Books, so stock and accounts stop disagreeing. We set up your item master and warehouses, load opening stock, configure e-way bills, and connect it to Zoho Books and your point of sale.

The parts of Zoho Inventory we configure
Zoho Inventory is priced by orders, users and locations, and the plan you need is usually decided by batch tracking or the number of warehouses. These are the areas we set up most often.
Item master
Items, variants and item groups with HSN codes, tax rates, units and reorder levels, plus composite items for kits and bundles. Getting this right first decides whether every later report can be trusted.
Warehouses and transfers
Stock held per location, with transfer orders between godowns and shops. Bin locations within a warehouse start at the Premium plan.
Batches, serials and barcodes
Batch and expiry tracking for pharma and FMCG, serial numbers for electronics and appliances, and barcode generation for faster receiving and picking. All three start at Premium.
Sales and purchase orders
Sales orders, picklists, packages and shipments on the selling side; purchase orders, receives, bills and vendor credits on the buying side, with backorders and drop shipments where stock is short.
e-Way bills and e-invoicing
Zoho Inventory connects to the e-way bill and e-invoice portals as a GST Suvidha Provider, so the e-way bill and IRN are generated from the invoice instead of being typed in again.
Zoho Books and sales channels
Items, contacts, invoices and bills sync with Zoho Books in the same organisation. Online stores and marketplaces can feed orders in, and a Zoho POS counter can sell from the same stock.
Which Zoho Inventory plan fits
Zoho Inventory is priced per organisation, with orders, users and locations included in each plan. Count your monthly sales orders and warehouses first; then check whether you need batch or serial tracking, which moves you to Premium.
| Plan | Per org / month | Included | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | ₹0 | 50 orders, 1 user, 1 location | Items, composite items, backorders and drop shipments for a micro business. |
| Standard | ₹999 | 500 orders, 3 users, 2 locations | Adds the customer portal and the core sales and purchase cycle for a small trading business. |
| Premium | ₹2,299 | 3,000 orders, 5 users, 4 locations | Adds serial and batch tracking, barcode generation, stock counting, unit-of-measure conversion, profit margin, automation and the vendor portal. |
| Plus | ₹4,999 | 7,500 orders, 10 users, 6 locations | Adds an online store builder, WhatsApp commerce, loyalty and coupons, and abandoned-cart recovery. |
| Enterprise | ₹7,499 | 15,000 orders, 10 users, 10 locations | Adds Zoho Analytics and multi-currency transactions per contact. |
Zoho India list price per organisation per month, billed annually, as of October 2026, excluding GST. Extra users, orders and locations are sold as add-ons. Batch and serial tracking start at Premium, which is where most distributors, pharma and electronics traders land.
From stock register to a counted opening balance
The goal is an opening stock in Zoho Inventory that matches a physical count, so the first month's reports can be trusted.
- 1
Item and process review
We read your item list, units, tax codes and how goods actually move between godowns, shops and customers, and decide which items need batch or serial tracking.
- 2
Configuration
Warehouses, item master, price lists, reorder levels, e-way bill settings, roles and the Zoho Books connection are set up.
- 3
Opening stock
Opening quantities and values are loaded per warehouse against a cut-off date agreed with your accountant, then checked against a physical count.
- 4
Parallel month and training
Billing, receiving and transfers run in Zoho Inventory while the old register is kept for one month, and godown, sales and accounts staff are trained by role.
Six reasons Zoho Inventory stock stops matching the shelf
Opening stock loaded without a physical count, so every later report inherits the old register's errors.
The same product created twice under slightly different names, splitting its stock across two items.
Units of measure mixed up, so goods bought by the box are sold by the piece without a conversion.
Transfers between godowns recorded as a sale and a purchase, inflating both and confusing GST.
Batch tracking switched on months after go-live, when existing stock has no batch to attach to.
Zoho Books and Zoho Inventory set up as separate organisations, so items and invoices never sync.
Where Zoho Inventory sits next to Books, POS and ERP
Zoho Books has basic item tracking of its own. Zoho Inventory adds warehouses, batches, serials, packages and shipments, and the two share one organisation, so invoices raised in either appear in both. Most trading businesses start in Zoho Books and add Zoho Inventory when a second godown or batch tracking makes the simple item list too thin.
Shops and restaurants usually bill from Zoho POS, which keeps its own stock by outlet. Our Zoho POS page explains when POS stock alone is enough and when a central warehouse in Zoho Inventory is worth adding.
Manufacturers and multi-company groups that need production, procurement and finance in one system should also look at Zoho ERP, which bundles those modules rather than connecting separate apps.

Zoho Inventory — common questions
How much does Zoho Inventory cost in India?
Zoho Inventory has a Free plan for 50 orders a month. Paid plans are priced per organisation: Standard ₹999 a month, Premium ₹2,299, Plus ₹4,999 and Enterprise ₹7,499, billed annually and excluding GST (October 2026). Each includes a set number of orders, users and locations, with add-ons beyond that. Our implementation fee is separate and one-off.
Do we need Zoho Inventory if we already use Zoho Books?
Not always. Zoho Books tracks item quantities for a single stock list. Add Zoho Inventory when you need more than one warehouse, batch or serial tracking, packages and shipments, or orders from an online store. The two share data in one organisation, so adding Inventory later does not mean starting again.
Can Zoho Inventory generate e-way bills and e-invoices?
Yes. In the India edition, Zoho Inventory connects to the e-way bill and e-invoice portals once Zoho is registered as your GST Suvidha Provider, so both are generated from the invoice. We set up the connection and the mandatory fields, such as HSN codes, distance and transporter details, during configuration.
Does Zoho Inventory track batches and expiry dates?
Yes, from the Premium plan. Batch tracking records the batch number, manufacturing and expiry dates for each receipt, and serial tracking does the same for individual units. Turn them on before go-live; adding them later means re-counting stock that has no batch recorded.
Can we move our stock data from Tally or Excel?
Yes. Item masters, units, tax codes and opening stock per warehouse are imported, then checked against a physical count before go-live. Our Zoho migration page explains how we de-duplicate items and agree the cut-off date with your accountant.
How long does a Zoho Inventory implementation take?
A single-warehouse trader with a clean item list is usually live in two to three weeks. Multiple godowns, batch tracking, e-way bills and a Zoho Books or POS connection take four to six weeks, most of it spent cleaning the item master and counting opening stock.
