Zoho Books
across India
GST compliance, bank reconciliation, and real-time financial visibility — set up around your actual accounting structure.
Tech Geum implements Zoho Books for businesses across 21+ districts in India. We configure GST invoicing, bank feeds, chart of accounts, and accountant access around your actual business type — not a generic template.
What Zoho Books gives growing businesses that Tally and Excel cannot
Zoho Books replaces the end-of-quarter scramble — the spreadsheet exports, the manual GST compilation, and the accountant's after-hours reconciliation — with a system where invoices are GST-correct from the moment they are raised.
GST-ready invoicing
Create GST-compliant invoices with HSN/SAC codes, multi-rate tax calculations, GSTIN validation, and e-invoicing support. Generate GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B data directly from your recorded transactions — no manual compilation at quarter end.
Automated bank reconciliation
Connect bank feeds from major Indian banks, auto-match transactions against your book entries, and flag unreconciled items. What used to take an accountant two full days takes 15 minutes of reviewing flagged mismatches.
Real-time financial reports
Pull P&L statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and aging summaries whenever you need them — not just at year end. The owner and accountant see the same numbers in real time without anyone compiling a report.
Multi-user accountant access
Give your chartered accountant a dedicated login with exactly the access they need. No shared passwords, no emailing Excel files — your books are always current, and your accountant can work on them from anywhere without being in the office.
The businesses that get the most out of Zoho Books
Zoho Books works for almost any business, but a few types feel the difference fast — usually the ones where invoicing, GST and collections have quietly outgrown a spreadsheet. If you recognise your business below, you're probably overdue.
Trading & distribution
Lots of invoices, lots of vendor bills, and GST that has to be right every time. This is where Zoho Books earns its keep — purchase to payment, all in one place.
Retail & showrooms
Daily sales, walk-in billing and stock that needs to tie back to your accounts without someone re-keying it into Tally at night.
Exporters
LUT, zero-rated invoices and multi-currency. We set it up so your export paperwork doesn't become a month-end headache.
IT & professional services
Retainers, milestone billing and recurring invoices that should just go out on their own. Plus clean books when a client (or investor) asks.
Clinics & healthcare
Mixed cash and insurance billing, multiple doctors or branches, and reporting that the management can actually read.
Manufacturers & contractors
Project costing, advances, retention and a chart of accounts that reflects how the work actually gets billed — not a generic one.
Why Zoho Books just makes sense in the GST era
A lot of accounting tools were built for somewhere else and then patched for India later. Zoho Books wasn't. The India edition was made around GST from the start, and you feel that the first time you raise an invoice and the tax is simply correct — no manual fixing, no second-guessing the HSN.
That's the real win. Your filing data isn't something you reconstruct at the end of the quarter. It's just sitting there, ready, because every entry was captured properly when it happened.
- verifiedGSTR-1 and GSTR-3B summaries that line up with what you actually filed
- verifiede-Invoicing and e-way bills generated straight from the invoice, no separate portal dance

- verifiedPlace-of-supply logic that gets IGST vs CGST/SGST right on its own
Coming from Tally or spreadsheets? That's the part that worries people most
Almost every business we move to Zoho Books is leaving Tally or a pile of Excel sheets behind, and the same fear comes up every time — “what happens to our old data?” Fair question. Here's how we handle it so nothing important gets lost.
We bring your masters across
Ledgers, customers, vendors, items, tax details — the things you'd hate to re-type. These come over first so the system already knows your business.
We set clean opening balances
Instead of dragging years of history along, we pick a cut-off date and bring balances as of that day. Your books start tidy and they reconcile.
We keep Tally as a fallback
Nobody flips a switch and prays. We run a check, match the numbers, and your old data stays available while everyone gets comfortable.
How a Zoho Books rollout actually goes with us
No 40-page project plan. We keep it practical, because the goal isn't a pretty setup — it's books your team will actually use after we've gone.
We look at how you bill today
A short call to understand your invoices, GST setup, branches and who needs to see what. This shapes everything else.
We configure it to your business
Chart of accounts, tax rates, templates, bank feeds and user roles — set up around your actual structure, not a demo company.
We migrate and double-check
Masters and opening balances come across, then we reconcile so the numbers match what you had before go-live.
We train your team and stay on
Your people learn it by doing, and we stick around for the first filing or two while it settles in.

Questions people ask us before moving to Zoho Books
Can't I just sign up for Zoho Books myself?
expand_more
You can, and it takes about five minutes. The part that actually takes time is getting your chart of accounts, tax rates and opening balances set up right, so the reports mean something. That's the bit most people call us for — usually after a month of fighting with it on their own.
We're still on Tally. Can our old data come across?
expand_more
Yes — this is the question we get asked the most. We bring over your masters (ledgers, customers, vendors, items) plus opening balances as of a clean cut-off date. We don't try to drag ten years of old transactions across, because you rarely need that. We give you a clean starting point so the books reconcile from day one.
Is Zoho Books actually GST compliant for India?
expand_more
It is. GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B summaries, e-invoicing, e-way bills, reverse charge and TDS are all there in the India edition. We configure it around your state and your filing pattern, so you're not manually correcting tax on every single invoice.
How long does the setup take?
expand_more
A focused single-company setup is usually 1 to 3 weeks, depending on how clean your existing data is. Multiple branches, inventory or a messy Tally export will push that out a bit — but we'll tell you honestly after a quick look, not halfway through.
What does it cost?
expand_more
Two parts. There's the Zoho Books licence, which you pay Zoho directly (billed per organisation), and then our one-time implementation fee, which depends on the scope. Smaller setups start modest. We scope the work before quoting so there are no surprises later.
Our accountant still uses Tally. Will they be okay with this?
expand_more
Most are, once they've seen it. You can give your accountant their own login with the right level of access, and they can still pull reports or export to Tally for filing if they want to. We've onboarded plenty of accountants who were sceptical at the start.
