Zoho Zia

Zia is only as smart as the data and processes underneath it. Switched on over a messy CRM, it predicts the mess.

Zia is Zoho's AI, built into the apps rather than sold on its own: predictions and recommendations in Zoho CRM, help-desk AI in Zoho Desk, AI bots and Zia Agents in Zoho SalesIQ, Ask Zia in Zoho Analytics, and an Agent Studio for building agents that work across apps. We clean the data Zia reads, choose the plans that include the features you need, configure them, and build agents for the tasks worth automating. For what Zoho announced recently, read our explainers on Zia Agents and Zia Chat.

What we set up

The parts of Zia we configure

Zia comes with the plan of each app, so the first step is knowing which plan includes which feature, and whether your data is ready for it.

Zia in Zoho CRM

Insights, predictions and recommendations from Zia's AI sales assistant on the Zoho CRM Enterprise plan. It needs consistent stages, owners and closed-deal history to learn from.

Zia in Zoho Desk

Zia on the Zoho Desk Professional plan, and an answer bot from Standard that draws on your knowledge base. Good articles matter more than any setting.

Bots and agents in SalesIQ

Zia Agents from the SalesIQ Basic plan, and Answer Bot and AI self-help bots trained on your web pages on Enterprise, for website and messaging enquiries.

Ask Zia in Analytics

Questions about your data asked in plain language in Analytics, and automatic insights. It works only on a well-named, reconciled data model, which is why we set it up after the dashboards.

Zia Agents and Agent Studio

Agents built for specific jobs — qualifying leads, drafting replies, updating records — with clear limits on what each agent may change and who reviews its work.

Guardrails

Roles, field permissions and review steps decided before any agent can write to your data, so AI speeds up work without making changes no one checked.

How we implement it

Data first, AI second

  1. 1

    Readiness check

We review the data Zia will read — duplicates, missing fields, inconsistent stages — and the plans you are on.

  2. 2

    Clean and structure

Records de-duplicated, stages and fields standardised, and knowledge base articles written or tidied.

  3. 3

    Switch on and configure

Predictions, bots and Ask Zia configured in the apps where they will be used, with permissions set.

  4. 4

    Agents and review

One or two agents built for well-defined jobs, measured for a month, then extended if they earn their place.

Where AI rollouts go wrong

Five reasons Zia disappoints

  • Predictions switched on over a CRM where half the deals have no stage or owner.

  • Answer bots launched before the knowledge base has answers in it.

  • Agents allowed to update records with no review step, so mistakes spread quietly.

  • A plan bought for AI features that the app's lower plan does not include, or the reverse.

  • No one measuring whether the AI saved time, so it is neither improved nor removed.

FAQs

Zoho Zia — common questions

Does Zia cost extra?

Zia is not sold separately; its features come with the plans of each Zoho app. In Zoho CRM the AI sales assistant starts on Enterprise; in Zoho Desk, Zia starts on Professional; in Zoho SalesIQ, Zia Agents start on Basic (October 2026). Zia Chat pricing had not been published when we last checked.

What are Zia Agents?

AI agents built in Zoho's Agent Studio that carry out tasks across Zoho apps, such as qualifying leads or drafting replies. Our Zia Agents explainer covers how they work with the Agent Studio and Zoho's MCP server.

Is our data ready for Zia?

Usually not quite. Predictions need consistent stages and enough closed records; bots need good articles; Ask Zia needs a clean data model. We check readiness first so the AI has something reliable to learn from.

Do we need Zoho One to use Zia?

No. Zia comes with individual apps on the right plans. Zoho One gives access to Zia across all its apps, which helps if you want agents that work across sales, support and finance.
