Microsoft 365 Pricing in India
Microsoft’s India list prices in rupees, what GST adds, and what changed when Microsoft repackaged the commercial suites on 1 July 2026 — with the date every figure was checked.
These are Microsoft’s list prices, not our quote. We publish them dated because Microsoft revises them without notice, and a pricing page with no date on it is a page that is quietly wrong.
Microsoft 365 Business plans, with Teams
Per user per month on an annual commitment, GST extra, for 1–300 users. This is the line most businesses are choosing between.

The same plans without Teams, and the monthly premium
Microsoft sells a second line of Business plans that excludes Microsoft Teams, at lower prices. If a Microsoft 365 price you have seen looks better than the table above, this is usually why — it is a without-Teams price quoted under the plain plan name.

Apps for business has no email
At ₹830 it sits between Standard and Premium, and it is the desktop Office apps without Exchange Online. It suits an organisation whose email is already handled somewhere else. Bought by mistake, it is an expensive copy of Word.
Microsoft repackaged the commercial suites on 1 July 2026
This matters more than a routine price rise, because it changed what the plan names mean. Three things moved at once:

Microsoft 365 Copilot moved into the headline Business Standard and Business Premium SKUs, which are now priced at ₹1,955 and ₹2,660 rather than sold purely as an add-on.

The plans without Teams became a distinct, cheaper line — so "Business Standard" now names two different products at two different prices depending on which line you are looking at.

A Frontier tier, E7, appeared above E5 at ₹8,235, bundling Copilot, Agent 365 and Entra Suite.
The practical consequence is that a lot of Microsoft 365 pricing published online — including by resellers in this market — now describes packaging that no longer exists. If you are comparing quotes, check which line each one is quoting and whether it includes Teams and Copilot before you compare the numbers at all.
What GST adds
Microsoft lists every India price with “GST extra as applicable”. Software subscriptions of this kind attract GST at 18% in India, so the figures above are roughly a fifth below what will actually leave your account.
On 25 users of Business Standard at ₹860, the licence line is ₹21,500 a month before tax and ₹25,370 after 18% GST — about ₹3,04,440 across a year. The number worth planning against is the second one.
If your business is GST-registered that tax is normally recoverable as input credit, which is only useful if you hold a proper tax invoice against your GSTIN. An international card charge to Microsoft often does not give you one in a form your accounts team can use. That, rather than the headline price, is the practical financial argument for buying through an Indian reseller.
Enterprise plans
Microsoft caps the Business plans at 300 users per tenant. It is a hard ceiling, not a guideline, and it is worth knowing about before you are near it.

The extras, and which ones you may already own
Microsoft 365 Copilot Business
₹1,745Add-on for eligible Microsoft 365 Business plans, up to 300 users. Microsoft was advertising a promotional ₹1,495.73 between 1 July and 31 December 2026, annual commitment, first year only — a dated offer, not the durable price.

Six decisions that change what you pay
How many people genuinely need desktop apps
The gap between Business Basic and Business Standard is ₹690 per user per month. On a team of 30 where only the finance and design people need desktop Office, mixing the two plans is the single biggest saving available — and Microsoft allows you to mix plans in one tenant.
Whether you need Teams at all
Microsoft now sells the Business plans in two lines. If your organisation already standardised on something else for chat and meetings, the without-Teams line is materially cheaper — ₹665 against ₹860 on Standard.
Whether device management is a requirement
Business Premium roughly doubles the Standard price. It is worth it if you genuinely need Intune, Defender for Business and conditional access, and pure cost if you do not. This is a question about your compliance position, not your headcount.
Whether Copilot earns its price
Bundled into the headline SKUs, Copilot adds ₹1,095 per user per month on Standard and ₹830 on Premium; as a standalone add-on Microsoft lists it at ₹1,745. Our advice is to licence it for the handful of people whose work it actually changes, measure that, and expand — rather than buying it across the organisation on the strength of a demo.
Annual versus monthly commitment
Monthly commitment carries a consistent 20% uplift on Microsoft's India list. Annual is cheaper but locks the count for a year, which matters if your headcount moves seasonally.
What happens at renewal
Licences quietly outlive the people they were bought for. Reclaiming leavers' licences and moving people down a plan at renewal is ordinary housekeeping that most organisations never do.
The costs a price comparison leaves out
None of these are Microsoft’s fault and none of them appear on a pricing page. They are, reliably, where the budget actually goes.
Migration effort
Moving mail, calendars and files from Google Workspace, an on-premise Exchange server or loose PST files is a project. The licence price does not include it, whoever you buy from.
Backup
Microsoft protects its infrastructure, not you from yourself. Retention policies and the recycle bin are not a backup — a deletion discovered four months later is gone. Third-party backup is a separate line item.
The security baseline
Multi-factor authentication, conditional access, admin role separation and SPF, DKIM and DMARC are configuration work. A tenant left on defaults is not secure because you bought Premium.
Training
The cost of people not adopting SharePoint is invisible and large. It shows up as files still going round as email attachments a year after you paid for the licence.
Buying the same thing twice
Defender for Business is already in Business Premium. Teams Phone is not in any Business plan. We see both mistakes regularly.
Buying direct against buying through a CSP reseller
The licence is identical and so is the list price. Everything that differs is around it.

Microsoft applied a packaging and pricing update to its commercial suites. In practice, the headline Business Standard and Business Premium SKUs now include Microsoft 365 Copilot and are priced accordingly, the plans without Teams became a distinct line at lower prices, and a Frontier tier (E7) appeared above E5. A great deal of the Microsoft 365 pricing published online still reflects the prior packaging.

Yes, and for most businesses it is the largest available saving. There is rarely a good reason to put a warehouse team and a finance team on the same plan. We normally end up recommending two or three plans across one tenant rather than one plan for everybody.

No. Buying through a CSP reseller is not a surcharge on Microsoft's list price. What changes is that you are invoiced in INR with GST, and that tenant setup, migration and a named support contact are part of the engagement rather than things you work out yourself after the licences arrive.

Probably not for everyone. As a standalone add-on Microsoft lists Copilot Business at ₹1,745 per user per month — more than twice the ₹860 Business Standard licence it sits on. Taken as the bundled SKUs, it adds ₹1,095 on Standard and ₹830 on Premium. Our advice is to licence it for the specific people whose work it measurably changes, run that for a quarter, and expand from evidence. Since July 2026 it is also bundled into the headline Standard and Premium SKUs, so check what you are already paying for before buying the add-on.
